Interventions

control group:Routine acupuncture at Shenmen (HT7), Taixi (KI3), Baihui (GV20), Zhaohai (KI6) and Fuliu (KI7)
Treatment Group:On the basis of the treatment for the control group, acupuncture at the Umbilical Four-Side Points as the main acupoints was additionally administered.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Meet the diagnostic criteria for insomnia specified in Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders (CCMD-3); 2) Meet the diagnostic criteria for insomnia of Heart-Kidney Disharmony type in traditional Chinese medicine, and be aged between 65 and 75 years old; 3) No communication or cognitive impairments; 4) Voluntarily accept random grouping and sign the informed consent form; 5) No dependence on any psychotropic drugs; if occasionally taking relevant drugs, the patient must have discontinued the medication for more than 1 week before the start of this clinical study; 6) Patients who agree to receive acupuncture treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with complicated severe cardiac insufficiency, renal insufficiency, coagulation disorders, or respiratory failure; 2) Patients with severe schizophrenia, cognitive impairments, or those unable to correctly express their chief complaints; 3) Patients currently participating in other clinical trials; 4) Patients with extreme anxiety about acupuncture or a history of acupuncture syncope; 5) Secondary insomnia caused by relevant physical symptoms such as severe cancer pain or dyspnea due to airway obstruction by tumors.
