Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Meets the diagnostic criteria for peripheral facial paralysis as defined by both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine; (2) Age ranging from 18 to 70 years old; (3) Duration of the disease exceeding 3 months; (4) Voluntary participation in the trial and signing of the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Those with secondary facial nerve palsy caused by tumors, trauma, otitis media, mumps, Guillain-Barré syndrome, etc.; (2) Patients with mental disorders or those with severe internal diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, etc.; (3) Pregnant women, lactating women or women planning to conceive; (4) Patients with peripheral facial paralysis accompanied by facial muscle spasms; (5) Patients with a history of epilepsy or a family history of epilepsy; (6) Those with metal implants such as stents, cardiac pacemakers and cochlear implants; (7) Those with infection or skin ulceration at the acupuncture site; (8) Those with contraindications to acupuncture, or those allergic to sterilized items, protein threads, etc.; (9) Those currently participating in other clinical trials that may affect the evaluation of the results of this study.
