Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Diagnostic Criteria Based on the international expert consensus and relevant guidelines for metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), the diagnostic criteria are as follows: imaging diagnosis of fatty liver and/or histopathological evidence of =5% macrovesicular steatosis in hepatocytes, exclusion of excessive alcohol consumption (i.e., ethanol intake =210g per week for males and =140g per week for females), and exclusion of other causes of fatty liver, with the patient having at least 1 component of metabolic syndrome (MetS). Inclusion Criteria 1. Meets the above diagnostic criteria for MAFLD; 2. Age between 18-60 years, with no gender restrictions; 3. Signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria 1) Females who are pregnant or breastfeeding; 2) Patients with other specific liver diseases, such as viral hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, and liver malignancies; 3) Patients who have undergone other acupuncture-based therapies, including acupuncture, electroacupuncture, acupoint injection, and ear acupressure with bean application; 4) Patients with severe cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, or endocrine system diseases; 5) Patients who did not undergo liver magnetic resonance proton density fraction (MRI-PDFF) examination, or those with severe data that prevents assessment of efficacy.
