Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients with a clear diagnosis of hip fracture (including but not limited to intertrochanteric fracture, femoral neck fracture, or acetabular fracture) who are scheduled to undergo hip fracture surgery under spinal anesthesia.? (2) Age = 65 years, with an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification of II–III.? (3) Patients who voluntarily agree to receive acupuncture treatment and have provided written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with multiple trauma.? (2) Patients with a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score exceeding the following education-adjusted thresholds: =17 for illiterate patients; =20 for patients with primary school education; =22 for those with middle school education; =23 for those with college education or above.? (3) Patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, epilepsy, or intellectual disability.? (4) Patients presenting with inflammation, ulceration, scarring, or skin breakdown at or around the selected acupoint sites.? (5) Patients who have received antipsychotic medication prior to surgery.? (6) Patients with severe organ dysfunction deemed unable to tolerate the surgical procedure.
