Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Age 40-80 years; (2) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for ischemic stroke according to both traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and diagnosed with wind-phlegm obstructing the collaterals pattern according to traditional Chinese medicine; (3) Time from onset to hospital admission = 72 hours and no thrombolysis performed; (4) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score ranging from 4 to 20; (5) First-ever stroke or previous stroke with a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score = 1; (6) Voluntarily signing the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) History of intracranial hemorrhage (within the past 3 months) or current bleeding tendency; (2) Large-area infarction (anterior circulation Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score = 5 or infarct core = 50 ml); (3) Posterior circulation infarction; (4) History of thrombolysis/thrombectomy treatment or use of anticoagulant/antiplatelet traditional Chinese medicine within one week prior to enrollment; (5) Presence of depression (Hamilton Depression Rating Scale = 17), dementia (Mini-Mental State Examination = 24), or other neurodegenerative diseases; (6) Blood pressure > 180/110 mmHg or blood glucose > 16.7 mmol/L; (7) Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, non-stroke-related hemiplegia, pregnancy/lactation; (8) Allergy to any of the medications (including traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine) used in this study; (9) Currently participating in other clinical trials.
