Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Age over 18 years old; under 75 years old 2) Meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes mellitus; 3) Meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetic peripheral neuropathy; 4) No use of external therapies such as Chinese herbal steam therapy or cupping on the upper and lower limbs within 3 months to relieve symptoms of peripheral neuropathy; 5) Able to accept steam therapy and balancing cupping therapy, with good patient compliance and signed informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant women or lactating women; 2) Those with acute diabetic complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis, ketosis acidosis, and severe infections within the past half month; 3) Patients with severe primary diseases of the liver, heart, kidney, brain, blood system, and mental illness; 4) Those who are alcoholics and/or have drug abuse and dependence; 5) Those with incomplete skin or allergic constitution, such as those allergic to any components of this prescription; 6) Those with peripheral neuropathy caused by other reasons; those with severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; those with acute diabetic complications (such as hyperosmolar diabetic coma, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc.); those with mental illnesses who cannot cooperate with treatment; and those currently receiving relevant treatment. 7) Other causes of neuropathy need to be excluded, such as cervical and lumbar spine lesions (nerve root compression, spinal stenosis, degenerative changes of cervical and lumbar spine), cerebral infarction, Guillain-Barré syndrome, severe arteriovenous vascular lesions (venous thrombosis, lymphangitis), etc. It is also necessary to differentiate neuropathy caused by drugs, especially chemotherapy drugs.
