Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: According to the clinical practice guidelines released by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2021 (Ankle Stability and Movement Coordination Impairments: Ankle Ligament Sprains), the diagnostic criteria for CAI are as follows [1]:(1) History of recurrent ankle instability (all must be met):1) =1 confirmed lateral ankle sprain (inversion injury);2) =2 episodes of "giving way" or reinjury within the past 6 months;3) Symptoms persisting for =12 months;(2) Self-reported functional deficits (all must be met):1) CAIT score =24;2) Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM) Activities of Daily Living subscale score <80%.1.2.2 Inclusion CriteriaPatients meeting the following conditions are eligible for inclusion:(1) Meet the above CAI diagnostic criteria;(2) Age between 18 and 70 years;(3) Have not used any anti-inflammatory, analgesic, or corticosteroid medications affecting ankle pain for 1 month prior to treatment and during the treatment period;(4) Have not undergone lower limb surgery;(5) Patients provide prior informed consent, agree to receive this protocol without other treatments, and sign the informed consent form;Only those who meet all the above inclusion criteria can be enrolled.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Those who do not meet the inclusion criteria; (2) Those with severe ankle fractures, dislocations, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, or other related diseases; (3) Those with neuromuscular disorders, such as peripheral nerve injury or muscular dystrophy, affecting ankle neuromuscular control and functional recovery; (4) Those who have undergone ankle surgery, block therapy, or other treatments that may affect study results in the past three months; (5) Those with severe dysfunction of major organs such as heart, liver, or kidneys, who cannot tolerate massage therapy; (6) Pregnant or breastfeeding women; (7) Those with poor compliance who cannot complete treatment and follow-up on time.
