Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients were recruited who were first diagnosed with aMCI in the outpatient clinic of the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the First Hospital Affiliated to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2025 to April 2025. aMCI diagnostic criteria were based on the Chinese expert consensus on assessment of cognitive impairment in the elderly and Petersen's diagnostic criteria. The diagnostic criteria of aMCI refer to the "Chinese expert consensus on assessment of cognitive impairment in the elderly" and Petersen's diagnostic criteria. (1) The patient was 55-75 years old; (2) complained of memory loss and had objective evidence of memory loss; (3) overall cognitive function was unaffected, and the ability to perform daily activities was normal; (4) there was no dementia, with a clinical dementia score of 0.5, of which the memory score was at least 0.5; (5) the score on the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) was at least 0.5; and (6) the patient had no dementia, with a clinical dementia score of 0.5, and the memory score was at least 0.5. examination (MMSE) score between 24 and 30, and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score between 18 and 26.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The following patients were excluded from recruitment: (1) subjects with serious adverse events that prevented them from proceeding to the next step of the trial; (2) those with sudden onset of cerebrovascular disease or craniocerebral trauma during the course of the trial; (3) those who were unable to persist in completing the acupuncture treatment; (4) those with incomplete clinical and imaging data; (5) those with poor compliance; and (6) those with other uncontrollable factors or who withdrew from the trial on their own.
