Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients who meet the diagnostic criteria; 2) Those with stable vital signs after conventional treatment and a disease course within 3 months; 3) Clinical manifestations including dysphagia and choking while drinking; 4) Motor impairments in the soft palate, pharyngeal/laryngeal muscles, tongue muscles, masticatory muscles, or facial muscles, without tongue muscle atrophy or fasciculations; 5) Preserved or hyperactive physiological brainstem reflexes (e.g., palatal reflex), hyperactive mandibular reflex, and presence of pathological brainstem reflexes; 6) Informed consent obtained and signed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with large-area cerebral infarction or severe cerebral hemorrhage; 2) Cases of true bulbar palsy; 3) Patients with impaired consciousness; 4) Individuals presenting with cognitive dysfunction; 5) Those with severe multiple organ failure; 6) Patients who failed to complete the scheduled acupuncture treatment course as per the study protocol; 7) Subjects with contraindications to MRI examination, such as claustrophobia or metallic implants; 8) Those showing severe cranial anatomical asymmetry or definite pathological lesions during MRI scans.
