Inclusion criteria

Those who meet (a) + (b) or (a) + (c) + (e) + (e) or (a) + (d) + (e) + (e) can be diagnosed with KOA. (2) The traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic criteria for KOA: Based on the diagnostic criteria for the kidney deficiency and cold congealing type of bone arthralgia (knee arthralgia) in the "Chinese Medicine Disease Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect Standards" the following are formulated: There is a dull pain in the limbs and joints soreness in the waist and knees heaviness limited flexion and extension of the waist and legs difficulty turning over when lying down aggravation with changes in the weather more severe during the day and less at night increased pain when exposed to cold slightly reduced pain when warm or accompanied by dizziness tinnitus deafness in the ears and vertigo; tongue is pale red coating is thin white and pulse is deep fine and slow. (3) Inclusion criteria: Meet the above diagnostic criteria; age 40 - 70 years old body mass index = 30 kg/m2; K/L grade (Kellgren-Lawrence radiological diagnostic criteria) level 2 or 3; right-handed (using the Edinburgh Handedness Questionnaire); average pain score in the BPI pain scale > 2 points; MMSE score = 24 points; BDI scale score < 14 points; informed consent and voluntary participation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those with a tendency to bleed; having undergone knee joint surgery within the past 6 months or received intra-articular corticosteroid injections within the past 3 months; experiencing knee joint pain related to rheumatic diseases or caused by inflammation; having primary or secondary muscle disorders (such as idiopathic inflammatory myopathy progressive muscular dystrophy glycogen storage disease etc.); already having severe internal or external deformities of the knee joint; having abnormal mental state lacking autonomous behavior ability and not cooperating with examinations; due to severe knee joint trauma or lower limb fractures causing joint instability or deviation of the lower limb alignment or fractures near the joint causing uneven joint surfaces; having severe cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases musculoskeletal system diseases severe organ failure and other movement contraindications; having contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging due to dentures porcelain teeth cardiac pacemakers etc. and taking drugs that affect brain imaging such as opioids benzodiazepines etc.
