Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with Late Life Depression: Enrollment Criteria: Age=60 years; Han nationality male or female right-handed. Meets International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 10th edition At least one depressive episode at age 60 and later. Currently in a depressive episode (Hamilton Depression Rating Scale [17 items] score >17). No systemic antidepressant therapy in the 2 weeks prior to enrollment and no Modified Electra convulsive therapy (MECT) therapy in the past 3 months. Normal control: Enrollment Criteria: Age=60 years; No current or previous history of psychiatric illness.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with Late Life Depression: Exclusion Criteria: Depression secondary to organic lesions or other psychiatric disorders; Those who are unable to cooperate such as serious violent attacks or suicidal behavior; Patients with mental retardation dementia epilepsy and end-stage disease. Normal control: Exclusion Criteria: Severe medical illness somatic illness.
