45 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with stage I to III colorectal cancer who are eligible for elective tumor resection surgery; 2. Scheduled as the first surgery of the day; 3. Undergoing surgery under general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation; 4. Aged between 45 and 85 years; 5. A numeric rating scale (NRS) thirst score = 3; 6. No cognitive or psychiatric disorders able to communicate normally; 7. Willing to participate in the study and have signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a history of salivary gland dysfunction before surgery or those who have taken medications affecting salivary gland function within one month prior to surgery; 2. Patients with oral pharyngeal or temporomandibular joint diseases such as surgery ulcers or inflammation; 3. Patients with conditions that may cause thirst symptoms such as diabetes or heart failure; 4. Patients with a known allergy to Amla (Phyllanthus emblica); 5. Patients who cannot tolerate 4°C cold water oral spray; 6. Patients with unstable vital signs after surgery and unable to tolerate the intervention; 7. Patients who are participating in other clinical trials that may affect thirst aside from this study.
