Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) according to established Western medical criteria [specify criteria if needed e.g. Petersen criteria]; 2. Presentation with kidney essence deficiency syndrome as defined by TCM diagnostic standards; 3. Aged 45 years or older; 4. Preserved visual and auditory function sufficient for neuropsychological evaluation; 5. Absence of cognitive-enhancing pharmacotherapy or behavioral interventions (TCM or Western medicine) for at least 30 days prior to enrollment; 6. Willing to participate and provision of written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Presence of dementia-associated neurological disorders (including but not limited to Alzheimer's disease Parkinson's disease Huntington's disease brain tumors progressive supranuclear palsy epilepsy chronic subdural hematoma or multiple sclerosis) history of severe traumatic brain injury with persistent neurological sequelae or documented structural brain abnormalities. 2. Significant comorbidities affecting major organ systems (cardiovascular hepatic renal respiratory or hematopoietic systems). 3. Active substance use disorder or history of alcohol/drug abuse within the preceding 24 months. 4. Known hypersensitivity to medical adhesives or Vaccaria seeds (Wang Bu Liu Xing) used in auricular therapy. 5. Significant physical or sensory impairments (including severe motor dysfunction aphasia or uncorrected visual/auditory deficits) that would compromise protocol adherence. 6. Inability to comprehend or communicate effectively in Mandarin Chinese. 7. Concurrent enrollment in any therapeutic programs involving auricular acupressure or mindfulness-based interventions.
