Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria for amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI). 2. Age between 50 and 75 years (inclusive) regardless of sex; right-handed. 3. Subjective memory complaints confirmed by an informant with a disease duration of more than 3 months. 4. Not meeting the diagnostic criteria for dementia. 5. Memory decline as the primary symptom confirmed by an informant. 6. Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) score of 0.5; Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) score of 2 to 3; Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score = 24; Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score between 19 and 26 (inclusive). 7. Preserved activities of daily living. 8. Willing to participate in the study and having signed the written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Cognitive impairment caused by other diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia with Lewy bodies stroke hydrocephalus etc. 2. Inability to cooperate with neuropsychological assessments due to severe hearing impairment aphasia or visual disturbances. 3. History of psychiatric disorders such as depression or anxiety or a history of substance abuse or addiction. 4. Unstable or severe chronic diseases of the heart kidneys lungs liver or other major organs. 5. Systemic diseases that may potentially induce cognitive impairment. 6. Presence of metallic implants in the body claustrophobia or other conditions that make MRI scanning impossible or interfere with image quality. 7. Prior experience with electroacupuncture treatment. 8. Subjects who are unable to tolerate or complete the study for any reason during the intervention period.
