Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion Criteria for Patients with Chronic Neck Pain and Comorbid Anxiety: Chief complaint of neck pain and discomfort accompanied by anxiety stiffness or restricted cervical mobility with a Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score = 50;Age between 18 and 75 years (inclusive) male or female right-handed;Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score for neck pain = 3 on at least 5 days within a 7-day period; Duration of symptoms = 3 months; Good compliance willingness to cooperate with the study voluntary participation and provision of written informed consent. 2. Inclusion Criteria for Healthy Controls: Age between 18 and 75 years (inclusive) male or female right-handed;In good general health (as defined by the World Health Organization: health is a state of complete physical mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity) with no physical or mental discomfort in the past month;No history of anxiety depression or other mood disorders and scores within the normal range on standardized anxiety and depression rating scales; Voluntary participation and provision of written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age below 18 or above 75 years;Receipt of acupuncture Tuina (Chinese manual therapy) or pharmacological treatment for chronic neck pain within the past 3 months;Presence of space-occupying lesions in the spinal canal such as cervical vertebral tuberculosis tumors or spinal deformities (e.g. scoliosis);Cervical-extrinsic causes of upper limb pain such as thoracic outlet syndrome tennis elbow carpal tunnel syndrome cubital tunnel syndrome frozen shoulder or biceps tenosynovitis;Severe osteoporosis or coexisting poorly controlled systemic diseases including cardiovascular cerebrovascular gastrointestinal urogenital hematologic or endocrine disorders;History of alcohol dependence or substance abuse particularly analgesics;Presence of metal implants or retained metallic foreign bodies (e.g. dental prostheses pacemakers neurostimulators infusion pumps);Claustrophobia or other contraindications to undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI);Pregnant or breastfeeding women or women planning to become pregnant within the next six months;Concurrent participation in other clinical studies.
