Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Meet the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth-edition (DSM-5); 2) 50 = age = 75 years; 3) The patient's antipsychotic medication and dosage had not been adjusted in the last two weeks; 4) Having cognitive impairment. score <26 on the MoCA scale; 5) is right-handed according to the Sharp Handedness Questionnaire screening; 6) have sufficient visual and auditory levels to ensure that the examinations and tests necessary for the study can be completed; 7) Sign a written informed consent form and agree to be enrolled in the trial according to the requirements of the study protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of psychiatric disorders other than schizophrenia even if comorbid. 2. Participation in any other clinical trials within one months prior to this study. 3. Receipt of electroconvulsive therapy in the last one months. 4. New stroke incident within one month. 5. Severe impairments in vision hearing or language that could hinder completion of neuropsychological assessments.
