Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) According with the diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorders (DC/ TMD) : the presence of joint sounds in the patient's history or finding of crepitation in mandibular movements. (2) Pre-treatment CBCT imaging can observe one of the following features in condylar bone : subchondral cyst generalized sclerosis osteophyte formation or erosion. (3) Aged between 18 and 65 with completed skeletal maturation. (4) Patients receiving experimental treatment regimens for 6 months; (5) The CBCT image is clear without double shadow and the field of view of CBCT image can fully display the anatomical structure of TMJ.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with idiopathic condylar resorption temporomandibular joint tumor maxillofacial trauma having a history of TMJ surgery or TMJ treatment. (2) Congenital abnormalities in the structure of the temporomandibular joint and/or all systemic diseases affecting the TMJs such as ankylosing spondylitis rheumatoid arthritis etc. (3) Allergic to application or Chinese medicine ingredients; (4) Patients with poor compliance during overall treatment such as those who do not wear as prescribed or do not return to the doctor on time.
