Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1)Individuals aged = 60 years. (2)Individuals diagnosed with sarcopenia according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia 2019 criteria (AWGS 2019): 1)Appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMI) measured using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is < 7.0 kg/ m2 for men and < 5.7 kg/m2 for women; and 2)Handgrip strength (HGS) is < 28 kg for men and < 18 kg for women; and/ or 3)6-m gait speed (GS) is < 1 m/s. (3)Individuals without regular exercise habits (regular exercise is defined as engaging in = 20 minutes of vigorous physical activity on =3 days per week or = 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on =5 days per week). (4)Individuals who participated voluntarily and provided a signed informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Individuals with absolute contraindications to exercise such as deep vein thrombosis or coagulation disorders. (2) Individuals with cognitive or sensory impairments that prevent effective communication with the researcher. (3) Individuals with medical conditions that interfere with their ability to complete assessments or interventions including musculoskeletal disorders (e.g. fractures) cardiovascular disorders (e.g. uncontrolled hypertension dyslipidemia history of malignancy stroke acute myocardial infarction angina pectoris ventricular tachycardia) cerebral infarctions malignancies or disabilities. (4) Those with infectious skin diseases or unhealed or ulcerated wounds. (5) Persons who have regularly taken the following drugs in the past 3 months: antiplatelet drugs (e.g. aspirin Aggrenox ticlopidine etipaterol and tirofiban) analgesics anticoagulants antihypertensives or lipid-lowering drugs. (6) Individuals who have received interventions that may affect the gut microbiota (e.g. antibiotics or probiotics) or have a history of inflammatory bowel disease gastrointestinal surgery or cancer within 1 month prior to the collection of the faecal sample.
