Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Accordance with the diagnostic criteria for LDH. The diagnostic criteria follows the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation published by the Spine Surgery Group of the Orthopaedic Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Group of the Orthopaedic Branch of the Chinese Medical Association in 2020. 1)Low back pain and activity limitation. 2)Abnormal sensation of lower limbs. 3)Positive nerve pull test mainly including straight leg raising test straight leg raising strengthening test femoral nerve entrapment test contralateral straight leg raising test or positive femoral nerve pull test. 4)Weak tendon reflection compared with the unaffected side. 5)Decrease muscle strength. 6)MRI or CT scan of the lumbar spine shows a herniated disc and the compressed nerve is consistent with the nerve affected by the symptoms and signs. LDH can be diagnosed when 3 of the first 5 criteria are met in combination with sixth point. (2) 18=age=70 years ma
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with any of the following conditions will be excluded: (1) Patients with LDH who have a history of lumbar spine surgery or who have an indication for surgery (symptoms not relieved or even worsened by previous systematic conservative treatment for more than 6 to 12 weeks or symptoms of muscle paralysis and bowel dysfunction caused by cauda equina palsy). (2) Combination of lumbar tuberculosis tumour spinal stenosis and other diseases causing low back pain. (3) Combination of serious heart liver kidney dysfunction or blood disease autoimmune system infectious disease mental disease etc. (4) Pregnant or breastfeeding women. (5) Skin cracks and intolerance to acupuncture treatment in the area of waist and lower limbs.
