55 Years to 80 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Age: 55-79 years old; 2) Write, eat, etc. with the right hand; 3) Physical health is basically good; 4) Educational level: junior high school and above; 5) No obvious visual impairment, no color blindness; no speech impediment; no serious hearing impediment; no limb movement impediment; 6) No contraindications to magnetic resonance, such as metal implants in the body (metal dentures), cardiac pacemakers, etc.; 7) No serious sinusitis, nonasal and sinus polyps, no history of nasal surgery, no occupying lesions such as tumors at the base of the skull or nasopharynx; 8) No other related diseases that seriously affect cognition, such as cerebral infarction, stroke, tumors, tuberculosis, etc.; 9) No other neuropsychiatric disorders, such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, depression, anxiety, etc.; 10) No chronic insomnia taking sleeping pills; no recent history of multiple general anesthesia surgeries.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Inability to complete cognitive assessment or MRI scan, language dysfunction, severe visual/hearing impairment, contraindications to MRI scan; 2. Inability to cooperate with the "Smell and Brain" acupuncture intervention; 3. Cognitive impairment due to other known etiologies (e.g., stroke, craniocerebral injuries, alcohol dependence, epilepsy, depression, Parkinson's disease, or other neurological or psychiatric diseases); 4.Cognitive impairment due to other known causes (e.g. stroke, craniocerebral injury, alcohol dependence, epilepsy, depression, Parkinson's disease, or other neurological or psychiatric disorders); 4. Nasal lesions affecting olfactory function, including acute/chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and nasal polyps, etc.; 5. Failure to complete the follow-up examinations
