Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18 to 75 years old; 2. patients diagnosed with mild to moderate essential hypertension diagnosed by western medicine: continuous blood pressure or 3 or more non-same day sitting systolic blood pressures >=140 mmHg and =90 mmHg and <110 mmHg; 3. The diagnosis of TCM accorded with kidney deficiency syndrome; 4. the patients signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Secondary hypertension (symptomatic hypertension); 2. severe heart failure; 3. insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus; 4. infectious disease; 5. hyperthyroidism; 6. Patients with primary diseases such as liver, kidney, hematopoietic system, nervous system, and psychiatric diseases, malignant tumors; 7. patients participating in other clinical trials; 8. pregnant or lactating women; 9. recent history of trauma.
