Initial assessment by triage clinician. Three arms of study: 1. Specialist 2. Extended Scope Physio triage who randomises groups to controls or ESP cases 3. Secondary care physiotherapist

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients are eligible for this study if acute back pain from 2-12 weeks duration or chronic mechanical pain >12.
