This is a 12-week randomised controlled trial to compare an intervention with telephone-based nutrition counselling plus provision of group based and self-help resources for diet and physical activity

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Men diagnosed with localized and locally advanced prostate cancer 2. Age at least 16 years 3. Body mass index greater than 25 kg/m2 (those aged 70 years)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Known distant metastases 2. Currently participating in any weight loss programme 3. Currently involved in other study
