Interventions
Patients will be randomized to receive their initial treatment based on either the Saudi Initiative for Asthma (SINA) Approach (Group A) or the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) approach (group B).

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age above 12 years with the diagnosis of asthma 2. Literate patient 3. No controller therapy for 2 months
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Use of controller therapy for 2 months
