Intervention: immediate HbA1c results using near patient analyser. Control: HbA1c results a few days later after routine laboratory testing.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 2-17 years with Type 1 Diabetes attending Stockport Children and Young People's Diabetes Clinic

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Non-Type 1 Diabetes 2. Aged over 17 years 3. < 3 months of diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes
