Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients (men and women) 18 years old or older 2. Diagnosed with COVID-19 by RT-PCR 3. Admitted to ICUs in Ecuador located in cities with geographic altitude of 2500 ms above sea level and at sea level 4. Need for mechanical ventilation as part of their management
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients younger than 18 years of age 2. Patients admitted to ICU for a diagnosis other than COVID-19 and also required mechanical ventilation 3. Foreign patients
