Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with active IBD requiring conservative treatment; 2. Patients with IBD in remission 3. Patients with IBS 4. Healthy volunteers (a smaller group)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Concomitant colorectal disease other than IBD or IBS 2. Extensive colorectal surgery in the past
