Interventions

A randomised prospective trial, each subject having a 50-50 chance of being allocated to the treatment or control arms of the study. 200 Patients will be recruited, 100 into each arm.

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with moderate to severe stable COPD 2. Aged >70 years
