Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 300 consecutive primary Total Hip Replacement patients; randomised to have either Foot Pump or LMWH until discharge.

The prevalence of deep-vein thrombosis, as determined by venography on the sixth, seventh, or eighth postoperative day.	—
