Inclusion criteria: 1. RA of less than 5 years duration 2. Over 18 years of age, either sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Unstable disease 2. Surgery or physiotherapy to upper limb within the previous 6 months 3. Unable to give informed consent
