Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meeting DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder or persistent depressive disorder, as confirmed by the MINI screening, and concurrently meeting DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for non-suicidal self-injury disorder (NSSI) 2. Aged between 14 and 19 years 3. Having at least a sixth-grade education level 4. If taking psychiatric medication, the type and dosage had been stable for at least one month 5. Providing written informed consent from both the participant and their legal guardian, as approved by the ethics committee

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Comorbid neurodevelopmental disorders, disruptive or conduct disorders 2. Comorbid schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders 3. Severe or acute physical or neurological disorders 4. Current suicide risk, defined as a score of =3 on the suicide item of the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) 5. Prior receipt of systematic DBT or receipt of modified electroconvulsive therapy within three months prior to enrollment
