Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients undergoing routine elective thoracic surgery especially open thoracotomy procedure with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) and epipleural insertion 2. Provision of written informed consent 3. Aged 18 years or over
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are having epidural anaesthesia 2. Patients undergoing emergency operation 3. Refusal to take part in the study
