Newly-born infants are transferred to an open resuscitation cot as practicable after birth. Infants are randomly allocated to one of two groups.

Inclusion criteria: All infants (term and pre-term) born at National Maternity Hospital.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Major congenital anomalies 2. No antenatal consent
