Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Professionals: 1. Aged 18 or over 2. Have the relevant expertise or professional role for the research phase Women who self-harm in prison: 1. 18 years or over 2. Remand and sentenced prisoners with personal experience of self-harm in prison in the last six months
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Professionals: 1. Aged under 18 2. Do not have the relevant expertise or professional role for the research phase 3. Do not consent to being recorded (workshops only) Women who self-harm in prison: 1. Aged under 18 years 2. Unable to provide informed consent 3. Unable to take part in an interview in English 4. Women where risk to others means that individual interviews could not be conducted 5. Women who are too distressed/unwell to participate

| Experiences and views of professionals and women who self-harm in prison measured using interviews and workshops with professionals and women who self-harm in prison. Data from these interviews and workshops will be analysed in order to develop a programme theory, intervention manual, and evaluation plan.
