Interventions

Patients who fulfill the inclusion criteria will be randomised to receive real, superficial or placebo acupuncture. Added 17/12/09: trial stopped due to recruitment issues.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged 18 or above, female patients must not be pregnant.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects must not have any other significant respiratory disease other than asthma.
