| The “Cognitive Flexibility Score measured using the standard Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI) by Dennis and Vander Wal” is defined as the primary outcome of the study. This variable reflects the participants’ ability to shift perspectives, adapt to new situations, and manage cognitive challenges effectively. The score will be recorded numerically within the validated range of the instrument at baseline and after completion of the social skills training program. The change in this score will serve as the main indicator of the intervention’s effectiveness, and the sample size has been calculated based on the expected difference in this outcome between the intervention and control groups. Timepoint: Baseline (before intervention), and at the end of the 8-week intervention period. Method of measurement: The outcome variable will be measured using the Cognitive Flexibility Inventory developed by Dennis and Vander Wal. This inventory is a standardized self-report instrument designed to assess an individual’s level of cognitive flexibility, including the ability to shift perspectives, identify alternative solutions in challenging situations, and perceive situations as controllable. The questionnaire consists of multiple items rated on a five-point Likert scale ranging from “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree,” and the total score reflects the individual’s level of cognitive flexibility. This instrument has been widely used in psychological and educational research and has demonstrated acceptable validity and reliability. | — |
