Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Confirmed intellectual disability diagnosed by a psychiatrist or the center’s clinical team Age between 18 and 60 years Continuous residence in the rehabilitation center for at least 6 months prior to the study Written informed consent obtained from the legal guardian for participation in the study No history of vitamin C supplementation or multivitamin use containing vitamin C during the past 6 months Absence of chronic diseases requiring specific treatment (such as renal failure, malignancies, active inflammatory diseases, or other uncontrolled systemic conditions) Clinically stable general health status and absence of severe oral and dental physical abnormalities

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Failure to consume more than 20% of the prescribed doses during the study period Having a special diet different from other residents of the center Development of severe adverse effects or allergic reactions to the supplement Occurrence of an acute illness or hospitalization during the study period Failure to complete the final follow-up assessment for any reason Withdrawal of consent by the legal guardian

Gingival Index and Plaque Index. Timepoint: Once before the intervention and once after the intervention. Method of measurement: Modified Gingival Index :To assess the gingival inflammation index in individuals with disabilities, the Modified Gingival Index is used. This method is based on clinical observation and evaluates changes in gingival color and swelling.The scoring criteria are as follows: • 0: Normal, healthy gingiva 1: Mild inflammation (slight color change and mild edema) 2: Moderate inflammation (redness, edema, and glazing) 3: Severe inflammation (marked redness and edema with obvious swelling) Plaque Index :To measure the amount of plaque accumulation and evaluate oral hygiene status and microbial plaque levels, the Silness & Löe Plaque Index (1964) is used.In this method, plaque accumulation is assessed on four tooth surfaces (mesial, distal, buccal, and lingual) using a periodontal probe and mouth mirror, without the need for disclosing agents.The index is scored based on the thickness of plaque at the cervical third of the tooth as follows: Score 0: No plaque in the gingival area. Score 1: A thin layer of plaque adheres to the free gingival margin and adjacent tooth surface. The plaque is not visible to the naked eye but can be detected by running a periodontal probe across the tooth surface. Score 2: Moderate accumulation of soft deposits within the gingival pocket or on the tooth and gingival margin, visible to the naked eye (without probing). Score 3: Abundant soft deposits (heavy plaque accumulation) within the gingival pocket and/or on the tooth and gingival margin.The plaque index score is calculated as the mean of the scores from the four surfaces of each tooth and is recorded as the individual’s plaque index score.
