Interventions

Intervention 1: Control group: The control group will receive 2 tablespoons (20 grams) of placebo syrup containing pomegranate essential oil and natural food coloring daily for the same period of time

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 30-60 years- BMI 30- 18/5 At least 6 months of hemodialysis- Ability and willingness to collaborate on the project

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Underlying diseases including stage 3 and 4 heart failure severe liver and thyroid disease malignancy Regular use of supplements or pomegranate juice in the past 3 months Smoking, alcohol and hookah use Use of steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs Severe reaction to supplements and placebo Pregnancy during the study period Hospitalization due to disease activation during the intervention

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Uremic toxin levels in dialysis patients. Timepoint: Measurement of uremic toxins (p-crsol and indoxyl sulfate) levels at the beginning and after 10 weeks, i.e. the end of the study. Method of measurement: 10 cc of venous blood after 12 hours of fasting (at the beginning and end of the study) using the ELISA kit method.
