Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age range: 17–21 years Healthy individuals with no known medical conditions, physical or mental illnesses, or history of neurological or psychiatric disorders that could affect physical or cognitive performance Players who participate regularly in training sessions throughout the study period and have maintained continuous training for at least the past six months No use of any medications, dietary supplements, or ergogenic aids that may influence the study outcomes No known sensitivity or intolerance to caffeine No alcohol or cigarette consumption Individuals who do not habitually consume caffeine or who abstain from caffeine for at least 48 hours prior to each testing session Written informed consent obtained prior to participation

Exclusion criteria: Age below 17 years or above 21 years Presence of any physical or mental illness affecting physical or cognitive performance History of diagnosed neurological or psychiatric disorders Irregular participation in training sessions or lack of continuous training during the past six months Use of any medications, dietary supplements, or ergogenic aids that may affect study outcomes Known sensitivity or intolerance to caffeine Consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, or other stimulants Regular or high caffeine consumption, or failure to comply with the 48-hour caffeine abstinence period prior to testing sessions Unwillingness or inability to comply with the study protocol Failure to provide written informed consent

There is a significant difference in BDNF levels among young futsal players following the consumption of different doses of caffeine during small-sided games. Timepoint: Blood sampling was performed immediately after the small-sided games. A volume of 5 mL of blood was collected after each session. Method of measurement: It will be measured using laboratory methods.;There is a significant difference in response inhibition among young futsal players following the consumption of different doses of caffeine during small-sided games. Timepoint: At the beginning of the study, participants consumed either the supplement or a placebo. After a 45-minute rest period, they began performing the Stroop test, which lasted approximately 15 minutes. Following a 5-minute warm-up, five bouts of small-sided games (SSG) were performed, with 1 minute of rest between each bout.At the end of each session, blood sampling and post-intervention assessments were conducted over a 15-minute period, including: (1) Stroop test, (2) simple reaction time test, (3) choice reaction time test, (4) passing accuracy test, and (5) heart rate measurement.All assessments were performed before and after the small-sided games. Method of measurement: During the Stroop test, a total of 48 congruent color words and 48 incongruent color words, presented in red, blue, yellow, and green, were displayed to the participants. For example, the word “green” could be presented in red, blue, or yellow ink. A total of 96 congruent and incongruent color words were presented in a randomized and sequential order. Participants were instructed to identify only the ink color of the word while ignoring its semantic meaning. The test was administered.

Timepoint: Subsequently, the passing accuracy test was administered to the participants after the choice reaction time assessment. Similar to the previous tests, this assessment was conducted before and after the small-sided games. Method of measurement: In this test, the participant dribbled the ball over a distance of 5 meters and then passed the ball toward cones positioned 10 meters away (short pass). The distance of the pass from the cone determined the player’s score: a direct hit on the cone was awarded 4 points, a pass landing within 1 meter of the cone was awarded 2 points, and passes landing more than 1 meter away received no points. Each participant performed five trials, and the mean score of the five attempts was used to determine short-pass accuracy. The scores were recorded by the researcher.;There is a significant difference in cortisol levels among young futsal players following the consumption of different doses of caffeine during small-sided games.
