Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by a clinical psychologist based on DSM-5 criteria, age between 8 to 12 years, ability to use a computer and perform exercises in cognitive rehabilitation software, attending school, and the ability to complete tests and questionnaires with the help of parents or teachers, scoring within the clinical range on diagnostic tests related to attention and inhibition (IVA-2) or the Conners questionnaire (parent and teacher forms), willingness of parents and child to participate in the study and sign the informed consent form by the parents, and the use of psychotropic medications specifically for ADHD (such as methylphenidate or atomoxetine) as long as they are prescribed by the treating psychiatrist, used consistently, and with a stable dose.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of other neurodevelopmental disorders (such as autism, intellectual disability, severe learning disabilities), presence of chronic neurological or physical diseases that affect cognitive function (such as epilepsy or brain injuries), history of severe head trauma or brain surgery, presence of other severe psychiatric disorders (such as psychotic disorders or severe depression), use of medications that affect cognitive function which are not well-controlled, concurrent participation in other cognitive rehabilitation or psychotherapy programs within the past three months, and lack of cooperation from the child or parents in attending intervention sessions or completing tests.

Sustained attention refers to the ability to maintain focus on a task for an extended period. In this study, sustained attention is measured as one of the executive skills that is typically impaired in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Timepoint: Measurement will be conducted at three time points: before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and one month after the intervention. Method of measurement: Sustained attention will be measured using the IVA-2 Test. This test assesses sustained attention by presenting simultaneous auditory and visual stimuli. Scores below the normal range in this test indicate an impairment in sustained attention.

Working Memory: This variable refers to the ability to retain and manipulate information over a short period. Working memory is a cognitive skill that is often impaired in children with ADHD. Timepoint: Measurement will be conducted at three time points: before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and one months after the intervention. Method of measurement: Working memory will be measured using two different tests: Digit Span Subtest of WISC-IV: In this test, the participant is required to repeat a series of numbers presented auditorily in the correct order. The higher the participant’s ability to retain and manipulate the information, the better their working memory. Corsi Block-Tapping Test: This test assesses visual-spatial working memory. The participant is required to reproduce a sequence of taps on blocks, either in the same order. This test evaluates the ability to hold and manipulate visual-spatial information in memory.;Response Inhibition: This variable refers to the ability to suppress inappropriate or impulsive responses. This skill is typically impaired in children with ADHD. Timepoint: Measurement will be conducted at three time points: before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and one month after the intervention. Method of measurement: Response inhibition will be measured using the IVA-2 Test. In this test, the participant must respond to target stimuli and refrain from responding to non-target stimuli. The ability to control impulsive responses is specifically assessed in this test.
