Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 18–80 years Candidate for non-emergency CABG surgery Willingness to participate in the study Relative consciousness (oriented to time, place, and person) Ability to communicate verbally No history of severe psychiatric disorders (self-reported) Not pregnant No history of drug or alcohol abuse Body weight <100 kg No chronic pain for more than 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Lack of relative consciousness after surgery Postoperative intubation with additional sedatives (e.g., propofol) Withdrawal of consent or non-cooperation Hemodynamic instability Need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Development of postoperative delirium after ketamine administration

MeasureTime frame
Pain intensity: Defined as the pain score reported by patients after coronary artery bypass surgery, measured using a visual pain intensity scale. Timepoint: Pain intensity was measured with VAS at 1, 4, 6, 12, and 24 hours after extubation (removal of the breathing tube). Method of measurement: Pain intensity: Assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), a 10-cm scale ranging from 0 (no pain) to 10 (worst imaginable pain).
