Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age between 18 and 64 years A diagnosis of bipolar disorder is one that is diagnosed by a medical professional using the criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-V TR) and does not meet the criteria for any of the mood episodes of depression, mania, or hypomania. BMI above 25
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Not pregnant Absence of acute physical illness No history of taking metformin and medications used to treat cognitive disorders (cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine)
