Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of marital conflict in the subject by the relevant questionnaire and diagnosis by the therapist Women with an age range between 20-45 years Higher than average scores in the marital conflict questionnaires, attitudes towards extramarital affairs and emotional divorce Lower than average scores in the emotional self-differentiation and functional flexibility questionnaires

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unwillingness to cooperate in research Receiving concurrent psychological treatments Use of psychiatric medications

Attitude towards extramarital affairs: Attitude towards extramarital affairs or marital infidelity is based on a general definition of a lack of commitment in a two-person relationship that leads to the formation of some degree of emotional and physical intimacy with someone outside of this relationship. In the present study, the meaning of attitude towards marital infidelity is the score that the subject will obtain from the Wheatley (2006) Attitude towards Marital Infidelity Questionnaire. Timepoint: Forgiveness training sessions will be conducted in 10 60-minute sessions, twice a week, and the choice theory intervention will be conducted in 8 90-minute sessions, twice a week. After the interventions, a post-test will be conducted on the experimental and control groups. In the follow-up phase, the tests will be repeated after two months. Method of measurement: The measurement tool will include the Wheatley (2006) Attitudes towards Extramarital Affairs Questionnaire.;Emotional divorce: It is said to be the coldness of a couple's relationship. In the present study, emotional divorce is the score that the subject will obtain from the emotional divorce scale of Razeghi, Ghobari-Bonab, and Mazaheri (2008). Timepoint: Forgiveness training sessions will be conducted in 10 60-minute sessions, twice a week, and the choice theory intervention will be conducted in 8 90-minute sessions, twice a week. After the interventions, a post-test will be conducted on the experimental and control groups. In the follow-up phase, the tests will be repeated after two months.
