Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All cases of children aged 2 to 17 years who had presented to the emergency department of Amirkabir Hospital with a severe asthma attack No need for mechanical ventilation at the time of presentation No comorbidities such as chronic pulmonary, cardiovascular, renal, neurological, or other systemic diseases

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Need for mechanical ventilation, decreased level of consciousness and intubation during treatment Sensitivity to magnesium
