Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Changes in brainwave patterns (EEG) in the frontal and parietal regions in response to viewing and consuming pistachio chocolate brands, measured as an indicator of cognitive and emotional activity in the consumer decision-making process. Timepoint: EEG is recorded at three timepoints: 1.Before exposure to stimuli (baseline) 2.During visual exposure to pistachio chocolate brands (perceptual phase) 3.After product consumption (post-experience phase). Method of measurement: Measurement will be performed using a 32-channel EEG device at regions F3, F4, P3, and P4. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Level of emotional arousal and perceived pleasure based on the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM); correspondence between EEG data and cognitive-emotional evaluations; change in brand preference after product consumption. Timepoint: EEG is recorded at three timepoints: 1. Before exposure to stimuli (baseline) 2. During visual exposure to pistachio chocolate brands (perceptual phase) 3. After product consumption (post-experience phase). Method of measurement: Outcome variables are measured using a thirty-two channel electroencephalography device that records electrical brain activity from the frontal and parietal regions during three phases: observation, selection, and consumption of pistachio chocolate.Emotional, pleasure-related, and consumer experience responses are assessed using the Self-Assessment Manikin questionnaire. All data are collected in a controlled laboratory environment under the supervision of a neurologist, in compliance with ethical research standards. | — |
