Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: Curcumin supplement (Dineh Company, 50 mg)
one supplement each 8 hours (3 supplement doses in 24 hours) for 12 weeks. Intervention 2: Control group: Maltodextrin-containing gelatin capsule, one capsule each 8 hours for 12 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: On dialysis for 6 months or more

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: BMI above 30 History of malignancy Use of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive medicines Scheduled use of NSAIDs

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Serum levels of Indoxyl sulfate. Timepoint: 12 weeks after supplement consumption. Method of measurement: Colorimetric assay.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Serum levels of p-cresyl sulfate. Timepoint: 12 weeks after supplement consumption. Method of measurement: Colorimetric assay.;Serum levels of highly sensitive CRP (hs-CRP). Timepoint: 12 weeks after supplement consumption. Method of measurement: ELISA.
