Inclusion criteria: Term and preterm newborns 0 to 28 days Needing blood product transfusions

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of major congenital anomalies or known disorders of iron metabolism Diagnosis of hemolytic diseases presence of known chromosomal abnormalities or genetic syndromes that affect iron status
