Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Extension lag: mallet finger condition causes the first joint of the finger to drop, which causes deformity and functional limitations. Timepoint: At the beginning of the intervention, immediately after the splint, and one month after the intervention to assess the continuation of treatment. Method of measurement: In this study, we use a SAEHAN brand goniometer, made of stainless steel and finger-sized. The goniometer determines the amount of joint movement in degrees. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Total active motion: Descriptive definition: The total active motion is the sum of the flexion present in all joints of a finger minus the lack of extension present in the joints of the same finger. Timepoint: Before the intervention, immediately after using the splint, and one month after the end of treatment to check for continued treatment. Method of measurement: A goniometer is a device that measures the angle of an object up to a specified position. In this study, we used a SAEHAN brand goniometer, made of stainless steel and finger-sized. The goniometer measures the amount of joint movement in degrees. | — |
