18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 18 to 75 years old Diagnosed with rectal cancer Candidate for low anterior resection (LAR) and/or abdominoperineal resection (APR) for total mesorectal excision

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with insufficient information in their medical records Patients undergoing simultaneous bladder or prostate surgery Patients with a history of cystectomy Patients with pre-existing urinary tract infections or urinary system diseases (including end-stage kidney disease, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, and malignancy) Patients with a prior history of urinary retention or taking medications that affect bladder function Male patients with prostate disease (e.g., benign prostatic hyperplasia) Patients undergoing emergency surgery Patients with a history of lower spinal column disease or surgery in that area (due to potential neurogenic bladder) Patients using anticholinergic medications

Postoperative Urinary Retention. Timepoint: During the postoperative hospitalization period and 60 days after surgery. Method of measurement: Direct bladder catheterization.
