Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Physically active females (based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form) No exposure to altitude above 2000 m in the past two months No blood donation within the past two months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: presence of acute or chronic cardiovascular or orthopedic conditions irregular menstrual cycle smoking, drug or alcohol use taking contraceptive pills, and pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
Reaction Time. Timepoint: Before the onset of resting hypoxia, immediately after 60 minutes of resting hypoxia, immediately after exhausting aerobic activity. Method of measurement: Using a visual choice reaction time device (model 63035A, Lafayette Instrument Company, Indiana, USA), connected to a multi-function timer.;Time to Exhaustion. Timepoint: At the end of exhausting aerobic activity. Method of measurement: Time recording using a cycle ergometer.

Heart rate. Timepoint: Every 3 minutes during exhausting aerobic activity. Method of measurement: using a chest strap (M430, Polar, Finland) connected to the cycle ergometer.;Perceived exertion. Timepoint: Every 3 minutes during exhausting aerobic activity. Method of measurement: Using a fingertip pulse oximeter (Nonin Onyx II 9550, Nonin Medical, Plymouth, MN, USA).;Oxygen saturation. Timepoint: Every 3 minutes during exhausting aerobic activity. Method of measurement: Using the 6-20 Borg scale.
